MUA: Booked!

Assalammualaikum dan hai cantiks

Just a quick update. Excited sebab boleh cross another item from my checklist. One of the key things that I need to do actually - MUA booking. KL B2B ni semua advance-advance belaka. If sought-after MUA tu cepat je fully booked. Being a procastinator, memang la Rilla ni lambat je nak booking bagai. I have this one MUA that I want, tapi malangnya, untuk tarikh Rilla tu, dia tak available. Masa Rilla dapat tahu tu, dah fikir 'adoi...malasnya aku nak survey-survey MUA ni'. (I'm so malas sampai up to one point, rasa nak makeup sendiri je - malas nak survey punya pasal, LOL) Haha, but I think it's a blessing in disguise.

Sebab I've came across with another MUA in which, judging from her portfolio, can deliver my expectations. Her work also is better than the initial MUA yang Rilla nak tu. Rilla nak yang make-up outcome dia macam Kak Sai punya hasil tangan, tapi nak yang tak mahal, hahahah. Boleh gitu? Ala, kalau Rilla nak book Kak Sai pun, I'm sure she's fully booked on my date tu.

Actually my expectation tak lah tinggi mana. I'm a simple girl. I want a simple makeup during my big day nanti. No false eyelashes (wearing falsies is the same like wearing a wig, no?), no eye shadow warna warni macam hijau, biru, merah ke (ada ke orang pakai eyeshadow merah?). I've never wore heavy eye makeup, so why should I just because it's my wedding day? And most importantly, blusher kena subtle je. Eh, tapi this is my opinion je ok. I'm not suggesting that you should do the same. If you like makeup meriah-meriah, go ahead (actually you dont't need my approval pun kan?). It's your day after all. You should do whatever that'll make you happy. I just want to look like myself, only slightly better.

Unfortunately, walaupun Rilla nak makeup yang simple, tak banyak MUA yang boleh deliver. This is based on their portfolios la. Not sure whether it's the bride's request or the MUA's style, tapi kebanyakkannya, makeup style yang heavy-heavy (at least in my opinion la - kot kalau ikut orang lain dia cakap standard bridal makeup). So, it's not easy to find an MUA who can edit their work, who can hold back from adding more things. Rilla suka perpatah sikit itu lebih. Less is more kalau speaking London.

So, when I saw my MUA's portfolio, Rilla terus je contact, tanya rate, how much do I have to pay etc. Luckily she's available for my nikah and sanding. Rilla pun dah malas nak cari yang lain, kanda pun suka style dia. So, I've paid the deposit (which was 40%) cepat-cepat. Lega kepala, satu benda selesai. Rate dia ni mid-range, jadi to me, affordable la. She's also very nice, tak pushy, tak kekwat. Oh, she's not well known MUA pun di kalangan BBF. So dont ask me who, nanti lepas majlis, I'll reveal her if the outcome best. In the meanwhile, I letak some of her works.
